
It’s that time of the year again: The San Diego Comic-Con is only days away now, and hopefully you scored your tickets already because the event that brought a total of 125,000 visitors to California last year has been sold out for quite a while now. Apart from the usual fan favorites, you should definitely check out these comedy panels at this year’s geek galore. For this very purpose, we compiled a list of the laughs you should not miss out on throughout these four unforgettable days in sunny San Diego.
Thursday, July 12:
12:45-1:45 pm: MAD Screening and Q&A (Room 6DE)
The magazine-turned-animated series is currently in its third season and features animated parodies, crazy commercials, pretend promos and classic gags. Get a recap of the funny of season two and get a sneak peek of what’s going to happen in the upcoming season.
2:15-3:15 pm: USA Network’s Psych (Ballroom 20)
Returning to Comic-Con for a fourth consecutive year, the fan-focused event will invite the visitors to be active participants in this panel. The Psych stars (James Roday, Dule Hill, Kirsten Nelson and Corbin Bernsen) as well as producers (Steve Franks, Kelly Kulchak, and Chris Henze) will answer questions, share secrets and we think you will be just…psyched!
4:00-5:00 pm: Wilfred Screening and Q&A (Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront)
The unique live-action comedy focuses on Elijah Wood’s character and his unique friendship with his neighbor’s dog, Wilfred, whom Elijah’s character sees not as a dog, but as a bitter man in a dog costume. Wood himself as well as co-stars Jason Gann (The Wedge), Fiona Gubelmann (Don’t Trust The B** In Apt. 23), and Dorian Brown (Roommates) will discuss this unique upcoming comedy.
5:00-6:00 pmm: Archer Screening and Q&A (Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront)
The upcoming animated half-hour spy comedy focuses on lives of employees of the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS). Series creator Adam Reed and the voice actors will be discussing the series with the fans.
6:30-7:30 pm: Workaholics Panel (Room 24ABC)
Join stars, Co-Creators, writers, and Executive Producers of Workaholics as they take fans behind-the-scenes and give a sneak peek into upcoming new episodes, including a few special guests. Also, one lucky fan will be selected to have their name written into a future episode. S’Go!
Friday, July 13:
10:00-11:00 am.: Community School is Back in Session (Ballroom 20)
In advance of the fourth season of Community, the series stars will share what surprises are in store for the upcoming season.
10:45-11:45 pm: ParaNorman Behind The Scenes (Hall H)
Cast and crew will be discussing the new Stop-Motion comedy thriller made in 3D. The feature will open nationwide on August 17, but this panel gives you the chance to see never-before-seen footage on this very Friday.
12:05-1:05 pm: The Big Bang Theory Screening and Q&A (Hall H)
Busy day, eh? Join the crew of the infamously famous comedy series for a lively discussion and a special screening, and some As to so many Qs.
6:00-7:00 pm: Brickleberry Panel (Room 6A)
Join members of the the new Daniel Tosh-produced animated series’ voice cast including David Herman (Office Space), Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants) and Jerry Minor (Anchorman), as well as O’Guin and Black for a panel discussion following a screening of an entire episode for the first time exclusively.
Saturday, July 14:
11:00-12:00 pm: Geek & Sundry (Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront)
Be sure not to miss Felicia Day (Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog), Will Wheaton (The Big Bang Theory), director Daniel Strange (Between Two Ferns) and the cast of The Guild making some announcements about upcoming projects.
12:00-12:45 pm: Futurama Panel (Ballroom 20)
Futurama cannot be killed! Join the cast and crew for world premiere footage of the all-new season on Comedy Central. Scheduled panelists include Creator/Executive Producer Matt Groening, Executive Producer David X. Cohen, and stars Billy West (Fry, Zoidberg, Professor Farnsworth, Zapp Brannigan), Katey Sagal (Leela), and John DiMaggio (Bender). Plus, wear your Futurama-themed costume for the chance to win slightly valuable prizes!
1:45-2:30 pm: Family Guy (Ballroom 20)
Join members of the voice cast including Seth MacFarlane, Alex Bornstein, Mila Kunis, Seth Green, and Mike Henry as well as showrunners Mark Hentemann and Steve Callaghan for a sneak peek at some of the funniest scenes from the upcoming season.
5:00-6:00 pm: Glee Panel (Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront)
With many of the characters out of high school and its fourth season airing this upcoming fall, the panel will give you a chance to join creator Brad Falchuk and stars Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera and others for a discussion of the past season’s biggest and funniest moments – moderated by TVLine’s one and only, Michael Ausiello.
8:00 - 10:00pm: The Babymakers Screening (Horton Plaza 14)
An advance screening of the new Broken Lizard movie The Babymakers starring Olivia Munn and Paul Schneider. The movie screening will include an intro and Q&A with the movie’s director Jay Chandrasekhar.
Sunday, July 15:
10:00-11:00 am: Stunned Fools, Scary-Ass Clowns, Enlightened Orangutans, and Other Devilish Charmers: Humor in Science Fiction and Fantasy (Room 25ABC)
For some people, there’s one thing that’s better than just comedy, and that’s comedy in their Sci-Fi and Fantasy favorites. Join some of the quirkiest, funniest writers in today’s Sci-Fi and Fantasy scene for some laughter that is outer space.
1:45-2:45 pm: The Cleveland Show Panel (Hall H)
See the world premiere screening of “Menace II Secret Society”, the first episode of the upcoming fourth season followed by a Q&A with cast and crew members.
